Europe’s top accounting and finance event, Accountex, today announced it will be holding its first Australian show in March 2023 at Sydney’s ICC.

The announcement was celebrated at an official launch in Sydney on April 7 at Sydney’s Beta Gallery which was attended by the who’s who of Australian finance and accounting.

Commercial Director, Alex Haughton of Diversified Communications, said there has been significant push from the Australian industry to get an Accountex event for the local market.

“Accountex UK attracts many high growth accounting firms looking to embrace the digital revolution. The strength of the UK brand and strong global market growth sees Accountex launching in Spain and Canada in 2022, as well as Australia in 2023,” said Alex.

“There’s a definite need for Entrepreneurs, Accountants, Bookkeepers, CFO’s, Data Analysts, Sole Practitioners plus Business Advisors to attend an event that can keep up with the pace of technology plus new efficiencies to improve their businesses,” she said.

“Accountants and bookkeepers are fast becoming technology advisers and integrators and it can be difficult to keep abreast of the many platforms across the various industries in which they work,” said Alex.

“A small firm may have clients as diverse as hospitality, retail, professional services and primary producers and all these clients require different platforms to integrate into their cloud-based accounting solutions.

“Accountex will be an invaluable opportunity for these firms to scope the latest innovations and gain the practical and positive tools they need to help Australia’s businesses continue to be the strong backbone of Australia’s economy,” she said.

The event has already attracted many high-profile supporters including Founding Partners BGL, DEXT, Fathom, Ignition, MYOB and TOA Global, and Associate Partners Australian Bookkeepers Network, Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Council of Small Business Australia, and the Institute of Public Accountants.

The launch of Accountex was a must-attend and much anticipated industry event. The theme of the night was focused on exploring the role of leadership particularly as the Advisors in the room have been at the forefront of supporting small business through the turbulence of the pandemic and in some instances may have forgotten to put their “own oxygen masks on first”. Trent McLaren, Head of Accounting at Divipay touched on the great resignation, the impact and the ability for organisations to find and keep talent. In addition Dr Jodie Lowinger discussed how to gain awareness and focus in a distracting and disruptive world and no matter our titles how we all have an opportunity to lead. The launch party offered a much needed networking and social opportunity for an industry keen to look to the future.
