Grit and resilience have long been synonymous with the Australian spirit. But if recent years have taught us anything, it’s that our nation’s entrepreneurs embody these traits day in and day out. From the local store that’s pivoted online and gone global to the accounting firm that’s embraced flexible working to attract talent, countless success stories have emerged since the pandemic’s arrival. This is why we couldn’t be more excited to invite you – the business community – to share yours in the FY23 Xero Australia Awards.

There’s something for everyone in our FY23 awards

Back for another year, the Xero Awards are all about recognising and celebrating the achievements of small businesses, advisors and our app partners. Just like last year, we have 13 major categories – all of which focus on the efforts and performance of a business rather than an individual.

For advisors, these include:

  • Accounting Partner of the Year
  • Bookkeeping Partner of the Year
  • Enterprise Partner of the Year
  • Cloud Champion of the Year
  • Innovative Partner of the Year
  • Community Partner of the Year

For small businesses, we have three categories:

  • Small Business of the Year
  • Emerging Small Business of the Year
  • Sole Trader of the Year

For app partners, there are a number to choose from:

  • Emerging App of the Year
  • Financial Services App of the Year
  • Small Business App of the Year
  • Practice App of the Year

Whether you’re a solo operator, sizeable firm or Xero app partner, there’s an award category for everyone. Learn more about the categories and criteria.

Coming together as a community

After years of connecting through our screens, we’ve learned that nothing beats human connection. So, one of the things we’re most looking forward to is bringing our community together for an in person celebration. Alongside this year’s Xero Award contenders, we’ll welcome our FY22 winners to join in the festivities (due to pandemic restrictions in late 2022, this cohort received an IOU invitation in lieu of a face-to-face event).

As well as an awards ceremony with all the trimmings, winners will have the opportunity to participate in a workshop that offers a look under Xero’s hood. You’ll have the chance to ask questions, network and learn from our company’s leaders and key decision-makers – something previous year’s champions got a lot out of.

Justina Gardiner of Perks, our 2019 Accounting Partner of the Year, shares, “Hearing from the Xero team and witnessing the company’s culture was definitely the highlight of the awards experience; it was a fantastic insight into Xero.” Meryl Johnston of Bean Ninjas – who took out the Bookkeeper of the Year category in the same year – agrees. “It was great to hear my team members sharing stories and learnings from being around the Xero team and atmosphere. They loved what it was all about!”

As for FY23? You can rest assured we’re working hard to make this year’s awards experience as memorable as ever.
