As we start to build momentum into the year it’s a great time to refresh your Xero knowledge and make sure you’re getting the most out of Xero.

If you’re already one of our #XeroCertified partners, you will receive an invitation to the first quarterly product update for 2022. Remember, you need to complete all four updates for the year to maintain your Advisor certification.

If you’re not yet #XeroCertified but want to upskill in 2022, read on to find out more about Xero’s Advisor Certification and hear from fellow Xero partners on how it’s been useful for them.

What is #XeroCertified?

Xero’s Advisor Certification is a learning experience that helps our accounting and bookkeeping partners become proficient and confident with Xero’s core features.

You can complete certification in the way that best suits your learning style and your previous knowledge of Xero. Choose from online courses, a webinar, a live classroom or if you already know Xero well you can take our fast-track assessment. Once certified, you’ll receive an official certificate to show your clients that when you say you’re an expert in Xero – you really mean it! To maintain your certification, you’ll need to complete the four quarterly product updates each year.

Why get certified – and maintain it?

We hear all the time about the benefits of being #XeroCertified.

Our product and technology teams are constantly making improvements in Xero, implementing changes to give our customers an even better experience. The #XeroCertified quarterly product update webinars inform you of key product changes, help you work efficiently with Xero products and support your clients more effectively.

Xero partner Megan Shannon from CooperAitken became #XeroCertified in 2014. “I did it to make sure that I knew all the ins and outs of Xero. Becoming certified gives you that affirmation that ‘yes – you do know the product’. Of course, Xero is ever-changing so you’re always keeping up to date!

“I think the quarterly product updates are very good. I always sign up to them. I can’t always do them at the time if it ends up clashing with something, so it’s helpful that I can watch the recordings at a later date. By attending the product updates and getting a heads-up about upcoming changes, it makes the transition so much simpler.”

Xero partner Georgia Goodman from Leech & Partners has been #XeroCertified for seven years. “For me, being #XeroCertified means we’ve put in the time to educate ourselves on Xero. It’s an indicator that someone is up to speed with Xero.

“I know that we’ve had new clients come on board because they know we’re platinum partners. A benefit of certification for our firm is having a listing on the Xero advisor directory, which has helped new clients find us too. When we’re hiring, we look for new staff to be #XeroCertified. It gives us proof that they have a good level of knowledge with Xero.”

What’s new in 2022?

Looking to the future, Xero certification will continue to evolve to make sure our partners are getting the best education possible. In response to your feedback last year, we’ve already implemented some exciting changes to the live product update webinars for this year. Our webinars will now include tips specifically for our partners to get the most out of Xero, chances to win spot prizes as well as guest appearances from Xero leaders.
